Jersey Shore Season 2 Episode 1 Review

Jersey ShoreJersey Shore Miami debuted on MTV last week with a bang. The Jersey Shore kids didn’t disappoint as they were as obnoxious and angry as ever. The big question going into Jersey Shore season 2 was whether it could match the success of the first season. If episode 1 was any indication, Jersey Shore Miami will not disappoint.

The Jersey Shore kids are all back and I do mean every single one of them. Like LeBron James, the Jersey Shore crew decided to take their “talents” to Miami. The New Yorkers will move from annoying the fine upstanding young adults of Seaside Heights to the pretentious souls of Miami Beach.Good luck Miami!

Gossip websites like RadarOnline and TMZ have fallen in love with the Jersey Shore kids since last year. The good news there is that if you are a Jersey Shore fan, there have been spoilers up almost daily about the new season. The bad news is that the biggest surprise of the second Jersey Shore season was out of the bag weeks ago.

The train that left the station a few weeks back is that Angelina returned for Jersey Shore season 2. If you remember, Angelina left early on in the first season after she refused to show up for work in addition to arguing with her boyfriend who was married. Angelina made her biggest impact though after the cameras stopped rolling in the press. Angelina made a plethora of disparaging remarks about her female roommates, none of which went unnoticed.

Jersey Shore Cast and MTV resolve a situation

Jersey ShoreIt was a sad day of GTL this week when it was announced that the Jersey Shore cast had gone on strike. Leave it to Mike “The Situation” and Snooki to save the show. Snooki and “The Situation” signed new deals with MTV and will return to work. The rest of the cast are expected to follow and proceed with Jersey Shore season 3.

At the risk of having my man card revoked, I admit that I am a Jersey Shore fan. I got caught up in all of the hype last season and watched from week to week as “The Situation” struck out with women, Ronnie lost his temper, and Snooki searched for love. I wouldn’t say that I was excited, but I was happy to hear that the cast would all be returning for Season 2. I was a bit surprised that MTV was able to get the band back together for a season 3.

Tanning salon owners all over Jersey were stunned when news broke that the Jersey Shore cast went on strike. The cast reportedly made $10,000 per episode for season 2. Apparently there was a misunderstanding somewhere as the cast thought that the $10,000 per show was just for season 2 while MTV believed they had that price for 2 and 3. The cast was upset citing that they could make more money all summer doing club appearances and refused to continue filming until MTV bumped up their price. There are mixed reports today as to whether the whole cast has re-signed. The only two confirmed are Snooki and Mike “The Situation.” It appears from all reports that the entire cast are in line for 200% salary increases. ..read more
